Matcha

Matcha is a particular passion at Wisdom. Actually one of the reasons that Wisdom transitioned from a straight retail store to a café was because of our passion for matcha drinks and the years the owner (Aaron) spent living in Japan.

Matcha is a tea which is crushed into an extremely fine powder and whisked instead of steeped. It has been drunk in Japan for 800 years and was considered the drink of the immortals. It was often consumed by high ranking Samurai before battle because of it's ability to make one feel calm and mentally alert.

It is the tea used in Japanese Tea ceremony. 

 

All our matcha is ground in Toronto. Matcha doesn't have the same shelf life as other teas so this is the best way to ensure freshness. Only buy as much matcha as you plan to drink within 1 year.
